My husband brings his lunch to work everyday, I try to be sure that it always includes homemade cookies. He often shares them with his co-workers which led to their request that I make cookies for all of them. Last week, I fulfilled that request by whipping up these cookies.
T called me at 9:30 the morning he brought the cookies in to inform me that they had all been consumed and to let me know that I had been nick-named after several well-known bakers.
1 c Crisco
1 c brown sugar
1 c granulated sugar
1/2 t vanilla
1 1/4 c All Purpose Flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 t cinnamon
3 c oats
Add ins of choice: Nuts, Coconut, raisins, chocolate chips, cranberries, etc.
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Cream shortening and both sugars together until combined. Once mixed, add eggs.
3. Add vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder. Then the Flour and Oats.
4. Mix in whatever add-ins desired.
5. Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes. After cookies come out and have slightly cooled, transfer to cooling rack to finish.
Enjoy these cookies and let it be known that if you make these and share them, you will most definitely gain a few friends.
