Memphis Farmer’s Market

I am sure you are sick of me saying how excited I am for the produce that comes along with the warmer temperatures of Spring & Summer. Well, last weekend, my Aunt and I finally got to select some of the bounty that has already become available thanks to all of the vendors at Memphis’ downtown farmer’s market.

They have plants & herbs

They have gorgeous flowers, arranged bouquets and single stem blooms available.

More common produce like potatoes, peas, and broccoli.

More colorful produce: yellow tomatoes

More cute produce: baby carrots!

less common veggies: kohlrabi

The Farmer’s provide samples of their products, yippee!

Granola

Cheese Wafers & Rosemary Honey Shortbread

They sell farm fresh eggs, beef, lamb, seafood, and more!

I also sampled the best pimento cheese I have had in a long time!

There are food trucks if you want a substantial meal and dairy trucks if you want to bring home raw milk or cheese. The bakers at the market make our city’s lack of a good bakery a little more bearable and the live music gives off the vibe of being at a festival. Looking for plans this Saturday? Come visit the Memphis Farmer’s Market on Front Street & GE Patterson at the Central Train Station Pavilion, every Saturday through October 7am-1pm. Make sure to keep coming back as the offerings change as the crops produce more fruits!

See you there!
